В статье представлены некоторые аспекты профессионального роста и повышения квалификации, а также условий труда женщин-стоматологов, влияющие на качество медицинских услуг и состояние отрасли в целом. Исследование представляет собой анкетирование, в котором приняли участие 124 врача-стоматолога обоих полов в возрасте от 22 до 60 лет. Выявлена гендерная асимметрия, влияющая на конкурентоспособность, физическое и психологическое здоровье женщин-врачей.

Aim ― This study was designed to analyze the citations of medical education to measure primarily the research trend of Problem-based learning in medical education and to compare them in the fields of dentistry with medicine, nursing and pharmacology. Material and Methods ― This study was a descriptive study using scientometrics and systematic review of citations. Electronic data bases Web of Science and PubMed were searched during the 2003-2013 for related article were extracted and critically appraised based on the level of education visualize the application of Problem-based learning in dentistry and pharmacology, nursing and medicine. We analyzed data using SPSS 18. A p-value less than 0.05 were considered significant. Results ― Dentistry 64(8%) was ranked three followed by nursing. The dentistry was ranked in the third on sharing articles of implementing Problem based Learning in education. The year 2007 was the apex of dentistry’s scientific productions on Problem based learning. Among the countries, the USA was identified leading country .All of the four fields of pharmacology, medicine, nursing, dentistry Problem based learning was the most applied in lesson than other levels of education. A statistically significantly association was found between Impact Factor and the number of citations in published articles (p<0.001, rs=0.43) and geographic dispersion (according to continental distribution) and PBL applications field (P<0.001). Conclusion ― These findings indicate gap Problem-based learning in the fields of medical sciences and future studies need to establish differences other fields and suggest appropriate solutions to resolve the dispute.

The research goal is to assess Medical Doctors' knowledge of the various dental specialties and to determine if their past dental experience affects their level of knowledge. Resident Doctors and Medical Officers working in the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Nigeria were surveyed with self-administered questionnaire in 2008. A total of 142 doctors responded to the questionnaire, giving a response rate of 71%. The female: male ratio was approximately 1:2.5. The designations of respondents were Senior Registrar 21.8%, Registrar 48.6% and Medical Officers 29.6%. The Departments that returned the questionnaire were Internal Medicine 21.1%, Surgery 19%, Paediatrics 15.5% Family Medicine 11.3%, Accident and Emergency 5.6%, Radiology 4.9%, Ophthalmology 8.5%, Pathology 5.6%, Anaesthesiology 5.6% and Mental Health 2.8% The mean knowledge score was 10.1±3.3. (Maximum score =21). Only a small percentage (5.6%) had a good knowledge (scored above 16), 79.6% had a fair knowledge (scored 8-15) and 14.8% had a very poor knowledge (scored less than 8). Doctor with history of previous dental treatment had better knowledge (P=0.03). The knowledge of Medical Doctors about the various areas in Dentistry is presently not satisfactory. Comprehensive care of patients, which includes prompt and appropriate referral, can be optimized by improvement of Doctors' knowledge of dental specialty through seminars and other educational interventions
