The histotypic structure of nodular growths has been morphologically studied after the primary surgery and reinter-vention. The revealed difference may indicate either the new thyroid tissue formation or the initial diagnosis error and inadequate surgery. Histological changes of the thyroid gland are caused by both the external (surgery, anthropogenic influence) and internal (reparative processes, dystrophic changes, hormone biosynthesis disturbance) factors, including iodine metabolism. Data of diagnostics of cerebrovascular disorders in craniovertebral passage due to Arnold — Kiary anomaly I have been considered. Clinical picture of the disease in different age groups has been represented. Condition of extra- and intracranial part of vertebral arteries and venous plexuses of the cervical part of vertebral column and craniovertebral passage, pathological asymmetry of the blood flow have been estimated. Efficacy of conservative and surgical treatment has been compared.

The research goal is to increase the efficacy of oral cavity candidosis treatment. 97 patients with oral cavity can-didosis have been examined and treated. Diagnostics of germ culture, microscopical investigation of smear of oral mucosa and the sensitivity determination of causal agents to antifungal drugs have been performed. In order to assess immunological status of patients the concentration of immunoglobulins in their saliva has been determined. In order to find out specific antibodies for yeast-like fungi immune-enzyme blood analysis has been used. All the patients have received complex treatment. The control group has been administered immunomodulator «Gepon» for application to oral mucosa. 64.8% of patients with chronic oral cavity candidosis have had low concentration of immunoglobulin G in their blood serum. The concentration of immunoglobulins IgA, IgG and IgM in oral fluid has been lower than normal. The treatment efficiency has been considered as a way of recovery of local immunological status. Local administration of «Gepon» has been proved to increase the treatment quality and remission period

Plague still poses a significant threat to human health, and interest has been renewed recently in the possible use of Yersinia pestis as a biological weapon by terrorists. The septicaemic and pneumonic forms are always lethal if untreated. Attempts to treat this deadly disease date back to the era of global pandemics, when various methods were explored. The successful isolation of the plague pathogen led to the beginning of more scientific approaches to the treatment and cure of plague. This subsequently led to specific antibiotic prophylaxis and therapy for Y. pestis. The use of antibiotics such as tetracycline and streptomycin for the treatment of plague has been embraced by the World Health Organization Expert Committee on Plague as the ‘gold standard’ treatment. However, concerns regarding the development of antibiotic-resistant Y. pestis strains have led to the exploration of alternatives to antibiotics. Several investigators have looked into the use of alternatives, such as immunotherapy, non-pathogen-specific immunomodulatory therapy, phage therapy, bacteriocin therapy, and treatment with inhibitors of virulence factors. The alternative therapies reported in this review should be further investigated by comprehensive studies of their clinical application for the treatment of plague.
