The research goal of the study was to assess frequency of allergic rhinitis diagnostics in schoolchildren with bronchial asthma and to evaluate treatment approaches to combined allergic pathology of respiratory tract in clinical practice. Materials: Retrospective analysis of medical records of all asthmatic schoolchildren in-patients admitted in 2003-2010 has been performed. 240 patients have been included in the study. Results: 61.7% schoolchildren had symptoms suspicious of allergic rhinitis. Nevertheless, the diagnosis of allergic rhinitis was established only in 56 patients (23.3%). Obviously, children with allergic rhinitis or nasal symptoms had more severe clinical course of asthma. The latter required significantly more frequent and intensive use of prolonged broncholytics in order to enhance the anti-inflammatory treatment (inhalation corticosteroids) (p < 0.05). Conclusion: in schoolchildren with bronchial asthma allergic rhinitis is diagnosed inadequately (insufficiently). This fact does not allow to start treatment intime and ipso facto to improve the clinical course of bronchial asthma.

In the article the results of study of comparative influence of system and local treatment by Ronkoleykin on indicators of immune status at 33 children with medium severe bronchial asthma are listed. As a result of fulfilled research it was established that therapy by Ronkoleykin both in the form of injections, and in the form of an aerosol, introduced on a background of basic inflammatory treatment of atopic bronchial asthma, provided positive dynamics of immune and cytokine status. The received results specify the necessity of Ronkoleykin use for complex therapy of children with atopic bronchial asthma

The research goal was to study the clinical efficiency of desloratadine therapy in children with persistent form of allergic rhinitis and to evaluate its effect on bronchial asthma symptoms. A prospective, randomized, open, parallel-group study of the effectiveness of desloratadine in children with persistent allergic rhinitis aged 2 - 16 in a four-week term was carried out. the effectiveness of therapy was evaluated by dynamics of clinical symptoms and rhinomanometry. the study showed that desloratadine was an effective medication in treatment of persistent allergic rhinitis in children of different age groups. It controlled nasal and other symptoms of allergic rhinitis and provided the reduction of stuffiness in nose and improvement of breathing through the nose. the medication significantly effected histamine-induced symptoms (itching, sneezing, rhinorrhea). In children with allergic rhinitis and bronchial asthma the positive dynamics of symptoms of asthma was observed. the effectiveness of treatment with desloratadine in children with isolated allergic rhinitis was proved to be higher than in patients with concomitant bronchial asthma

Expiration function, cardiohemodynamics and blood viscosity indices have been investigated in 178 patients in order to evaluate the efficacy of plasmapheresis application in complex therapy of acute bronchial asthma combined with arterial hypertension. Complex therapy proved to be advantageous.

Peculiarities of arterial hypertension in patients with bronchial asthma give rise to the scientific and clinical interest for investigators. The aim of the present study was to elucidate and compare special characteristics of systemic hypertension in patients with bronchial asthma and arterial hypertension by means of daily blood pressure. 93 patients with bronchial asthma were under study (34 men and 59 women of 40,2 ± 8,93 years old): 21 patients without hypertension, 14 patients with primary hypertension and 58 patients with pulmonary hypertension. 77 patients with essential arterial hypertension (30 men and 47 women of 41,7±4,8years old) constituted the control group. Daily blood pressure monitoring was carried out in all patients. Insufficient night decrease of blood pressure (<10%) in patients with asthma and pulmonary hypertension was twice as much than in patients from the control group (53,5% and 26% accordingly). Elevation of blood pressure, heart rate, blood pressure variability, pressure load indices were developed to associate with frequency of dispnoea attacks, especially in patients with bronchial asthma and pulmonary hypertension.
