Представлены результаты изучения воздействия нескольких синтетических моющих средств (СМС) на фильтрационную активность морских моллюсков Crassostrea gigas Thunberg и Mytilus galloprovincialis Lam. СМС Весна-Деликат, IXI и Tide-Lemon ингибировали фильтрацию воды двустворчатыми моллюсками, включая фильтрационную активность как взрослых, так и ювенильных особей. Концентрации СМС, которые вызывали эти эффекты, были сравнительно невысокими. Различные типы реагирования фитопланктона и двустворчатых моллюсков на некоторые химические вещества, которые сосуществуют в воде (в условиях комплексного загрязнения воды – или загрязнения смесевыми препаратами) могут вызвать последствия, важные для состояния экосистем. Ввиду существования организованной трофической цепи, имеется опасность суммирования негативных последствий воздействия индивидуальных веществ на конкретные трофические уровни. Выявлены конкретные примеры синергизма при суммировании антропогенных воздействий на организмы двух соседних трофических уровней. Описаны биоэффекты при действии синтетического моющего средства (СМС) Весна 1 мг/л на устриц Crassostrea gigas, СМС IXI 10 мг/л на мидий Mytilus galloprovincialis, СМС Tide-Lemon 50 мг/л на M. galloprovincialis. ABSTRACT: The paper presents the studies of the effects of some detergents on the filtering activity of marine bivalves Crassostrea gigas Thunberg and Mytilus galloprovincialis Lam. The detergents Vesna-Delikat, IXI, and Tide-Lemon inhibited water filtering by bivalves, including filtering activity of both adult and juvenile organisms. The concentrations of the detergents producing that effect were relatively low. The different types of responses of phytoplankton and bivalves to some chemicals that co-occur in the water (under the conditions of complex water pollution, or pollution with a mix of chemicals) may produce consequences important to the state of the ecosystem. Because of the trophic chain organization, there is a hazard in the summation of the negative results of the effects of contaminants on the organisms of different trophic levels. The concrete examples of synergism were found when anthropogenic impacts affected organisms of two adjacent trophic levels. Bioeffects were described of the action of synthetic detergent Vesna (1 mg/l) on oysters Crassostrea gigas, detergent IXI (10 mg/l) on mussels Mytilus galloprovincialis, detergent Tide-Lemon (50 mg/l) on M. galloprovincialis. The hazards of simultaneous influence of contamination of environment (e.g., by detergents) on organisms of two trophic levels may occur when the polluting chemicals produce effects on algae and bivalves that are filter-feeders. С.136-138. -- РЕФЕРАТ: Факторы, контролирующие численность одноклеточного планктона в воде, включают свет, биогены, температуру, вирусы, экзометаболиты, выедание консументами, химическое загрязнение воды. Химические вещества могут воздействовать на численность клеток планктона двояким образом: (1) прямое воздействие на клетки; (2) опосредованное воздействие через консументов. Автор показал, что 7 препаратов синтетических моющих средств (СМС) (1-50 мг/л) ингибировали изъятие клеток одноклеточного планктона из воды при ее фильтрации двустворчатыми моллюсками в течение 25-60 мин. Моллюски были представлены пресноводными (Unio tumidus) и морскими (Mytilus galloprovincialis и Crassostrea gigas) организмами. СМС подавляли фильтрацию воды подобно тому, как действовали индивидуальные ПАВ, которые также подавляли фильтрационную активность моллюсков (Остроумов, ДАН, 2000, т. 371, с. 844-846). Действуя на одноклеточный планктон, химические смесевые препараты (примером которых служат СМС, которые содержат и фосфаты, и ПАВ) могут вызывать эффекты двух типов: (1) прямое стимулирующее воздействие в результате повышения концентрации фосфатов; (2) опосредованное воздействие в результате ПАВ-индуцированного подавления выедания планктона моллюсками. Суммируясь, эффекты обоих типов могут вызывать дисбаланс популяций планктона в сторону увеличения численности его клеток в единице объема воды. ABSTRACT: Ostroumov S.A. Imbalance of factors which control the abundance of unicellular plankton under the anthropogenic impact. – DAN (Doklady Akademii Nauk). 2001. V. 379. No. 1. P.136-138. -- The factors which control the abundance of unicellular plankton in water include light, nutrients (P, N), temperature, viruses, exometabolites, grazing by consumers, and chemical contaminants. Chemicals can produce effects on the abundance of plankton cells in two ways: (1) direct effects on the plankton; (2) indirect effects via affecting consumers that graze and control the unicellular plankton. The author have shown that 7 detergents (1-50 mg/L) inhibited the rate of the removal of cells of unicellular plankton from the water column as a result of the water filtration by bivalve molluscs over 25 – 100 min. The bivalves were represented by freshwater (Unio tumidus) and marine (Mytilus galloprovincialis and Crassostrea gigas) organisms. The detergents inhibited water filtration by bivalves in a way similar to the action of individual surfactants which also inhibited the filtering activity by bivalves (Ostroumov, Doklady Akademii Nauk, 2000, 371: 844-846). Chemical mixtures (exemplified by detergents that contain both phosphates and surfactants) can pollute water and produce two types of effects on the unicellular plankton: (1) direct effects of stimulating unicellular plankton growth due to addition of phosphates; (2) indirect effect as a result of the surfactant-induced inhibition of grazing by bivalves. When summing up, the both effects can produce some imbalance in unicellular plankton populations towards increasing the amount of their cells per unit of volume of water. [Translated from Doklady Akademii Nauk, Vol. 373, No. 2, 2000, pp. 278–280]. --Pellet excretion by the gastropods Lymnaea stagnalis feeding on the phytomass of macrophytes (such as Nuphar lutea) was as high as 4–7 mg absolute dry weight per gram wet weight of mollusks per 72 h. Pellet sedimentation contribute to vertical transfer of chemical elements in the ecosystem. The pellet composition varies depending on the species of the plants eaten by the mollusks. When L. stagnalis feed on N. lutea, the pellets contain, in addition to organic and inorganic carbon, nitrogen (N, 2.3–2.9%), phosphorus (P, 0.4–0.5%), and silicium (Si, 1.1–1.9%). The relative silicium content may be 30% higher than in the food phytomass. The surfactant tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide (TDTMA, 2 mg/L) inhibited pellet production, their accumulation at the bottom of microcosms, and the matter transfer connected with this. The data obtained demonstrated a new aspect of the ecological hazard due to environmental pollution with TDTMA and other quaternary ammonium compounds at sublethal concentrations.
