The colorimetric method of analysis was first used to study the distribution of the color characteristics (spaces RGB and HSL) in sediment cores from the Kuril Basin of the Sea of Okhotsk and the nearby Kuril-Kamchatka Trench area of the Northwest Pacific. The statistic processing of these and in addition obtained geochemical and grain-size data made it possible to establish the controlling factors and significant relations. The most stable direct correlation is demonstrated by the characteristics of R–Mn–Mo (fine-grained oxidized sediments enriched in hydroxides of iron and manganese and related with them microelements) and H–L–SiO2 (coarse-fragmental part of sediments involving the grains of rock-forming minerals and sometimes a significant admixture of the diatom frustules). Usually, saturation S and phosphorus content gravitate to the first group of parameters, and the additive primary blue color B tends to the second group. Informative are some relations of the color characteristics, for example, the additive primary red color R and green color G (the boundary of the oxidized and reduced sediments). The admixture of the volcanogenic (pyroclastic) material can be reflected in the shift and disruption of the described relations. The results obtained show the regional conditions of sedimentation with the participation of the terrigenous, biogenic, and volcanogenic material and subsequent diagenetic redistribution of the matter. The revealed regularities together with other characteristics of the matter composition can be used for the detailed description of the sediment cores of the regions with the similar settings of sedimentation.

Sediments from the abyssal plain adjacent to the Kuril-Kamchatka Trench were collected during the German-Russian cruise for the Kuril Kamchatka Biodiversity Study, and the chemical composition, quantitative content, and species composition of collected diatoms were studied. The collected sediments are silt and clayey silt, the SiO2am and Corg contents range 7.58%–19.38% and 0.44%–1.55%, respectively. The enrichment of silts by amorphous silica indicates the presence of a significant number of organisms (predominantly diatoms) with an opal skeleton. High Corg content in sediments reflects biological productivity, which is controlled by factors such as water circulation and the distribution of nutrients. Interrelation trends among chemical constituents is investigated via multi-component statistics. Diatom assemblages reflect present-day water masses characterized by high nutrient content, surface water circulation, and sedimentation conditions for different parts of the study area. Analysis of this new data also highlights changes in the response of diatom flora due to abiotic factors.

Проблемы диагностики преморбидных состояний и поиска высокоинформативных неинвазивных методов для диагностики ранних изменений в состоянии здоровья населения являются важнейшими направлениями в современной медицине. В настоящее время активно ведутся исследования слюны и ее свойств. Этот биоматериал широко используется не только в клинической практике, но и при гигиенических и токсикологических исследованиях, а также для изучения фармакодинамики лекарственных средств. Слюна состоит из воды (99,42%)  и растворенных органических и минеральных веществ (0,58%). Состав слюны обусловлен гигиеническим состоянием полости рта, характером питания, нервно-эмоциональным напряжением, системными заболеваниями, суточным ритмом и другими факторами.Целью нашей работы было установление влияния различных факторов на гомеостаз и электролитный состав смешанной слюны человека.Материал и методы: Объектом исследования явились 20 проб слюны, забранной у студентов в возрасте 18-22 лет, не имеющих жалоб стоматологического профиля. Уровень Са, К и Na в ротовой жидкости оценивали после предварительного центрифугирования с помощью пламенного фотометра ПФА-378. Концентрация элементов определялась по градуировочному графику. Фотометр предназначен для измерения концентрации химических элементов в растворах путем фотометрических измерений пламени, в которое вводится анализируемый раствор.  Спектральное излучение элементов регистрируется приемником на фотодиодной линейке. Результаты: В  результате  исследования  выявлено,  что  после углеводной нагрузки (полоскание 10% раствором глюкозы) в ротовой жидкости повышается содержание кальция, калия (50.3±0.3  и 383±3 мг/л соответственно). В течение часа происходит нормализация всех изменившихся параметров у лиц с санированной полостью рта. Кратковременная углеводная нагрузка у кариесрезистентных лиц приводит к формированию кариесогенной ситуации в полости рта. После  использования  зубной пасты отмечается увеличение количества свободного кальция в слюне по отношению к начальному значению от  41.3±0.7  до  79±0.4 мг/л (р менее 0,05) и концентрации К и Na.  Превышение  контрольного  уровня  изучаемых химических элементов после применения лечебно-профилактической зубной пасты является важным показателем ее противокариозного действия.Выводы: пламенная фотометрия является объективным методом диагностики минерального состава слюны в норме и при патологии. Данный метод может быть использован как один из интегральных способов мониторинга состояния организма человека.

The way of vegetable raw materials extraction which allows to receive nontoxical composition of biological active agents from poisonous plants such as Gratiola officinalis L. was described. The alkaloids exit changes with the increase of ethyl alcohol percentage (from 15% to 96%). The extract was obtained using 96% ethanol and did not give positive high quality reaction to the content of alkaloids. The chemical composition with new nontoxical biological active composition of Gratiola officinalis L. extract was investigated. The extract contains a previously unknown plant – bioflavonoid quercetin. The average value of quercetin in this extract using the calibration curve of the standard sample quercetin (98%) Sigma is 0.66%. In the dry rest of extractive substances (Gratiola officinalis L.) the quantity of quercetin was 350 mkg (obtained from 10 g of a dry grass) as was established by the method of a liquid chromatography.
