Рассмотрено понятие инновационного потенциала как экономической категории. Выделены трактовки к определению инновационного потенциала региональной экономической систе мы. Определен элементный состав инновационного потенциала региональной экономической системы. Обозначены условия формирования инновационного потенциала региональной экономической системы в контексте стратегических направлений экономического развития территорий.
