The article presents pharmacoeconomics is an essential component of health technology assessment and the appraisal of medicines for use by patients. As a comparatively young discipline, its methods continue to evolve. Pharma-coeconomic analyses encompass cost — minimization, cost — utility, cost — benefit, and cost — effectiveness studies, providing essential information critical for optimization of pharmacotherapy, optimal health-care resource allocation and drug development success.

effectiveness of basic therapy for atopic asthma in children. Material and Methods. A 24-week, prospective, comparative, randomized, open-label study in parallel groups was performed. There were included 70 children with uncontrolled atopic asthma with high FeNO (FeNO>50ppb). There were evaluated the comparative efficacy of selection of basic therapy by using monthly monitoring of FeNO and criteria of asthma control in accordance with the recommendations of GINA (2011). Results. The cost / effective ratio (CER) for achievement of one permanent 12 week-control after 24 weeks of therapy in group of monitoring FeNO was 11433,26 rubles, which was 40% lower, than the CER in the comparison group (18382,99 rubles). Conclusion. The using of FeNO monitoring for a personalized correction of basic therapy in children with uncontrolled atopic asthma can reduce the cost of treatment and is also economically viable.

Objective: Comparative economic evaluation of clinical application of various alternatives to anti-allergic therapy. The total budget for the treatment of severe chronic idiopathic urticaria for the 12 weeks of the study (4 weeks of therapy and 8 weeks of observation) was assessed according to treatment: Group 1 -cyclosporine2.5 mg/kg/day, Group 2-cetirizine 20 mg and ranitidine 300 mg/day, Group 3 - cetirizine 20 mg. These groups were evaluated by direct medical, direct nonmedical and indirect costs. It was found that the lowest overall cost of treating 100 patients with severe CIU, within 12 weeks of the study were recorded in the group, where a combined therapy of cetirizine 10 mg ranitidine 300 mg. At the background of the therapy for 3 months with Perindopril, Telmisartan and Bisoprolol, the patients with arterial hypertension were noted to decrease systolic and diastolic arterial pressure. The preparations under investigation had different effects on electrolyte metabolism. Therapy with Telmisartan turned out to have the least effect on electrolyte metabolism. Microalbuminuria is a risk factor in patients with arterial hypertension and may influence on the basic blood electrolyte balance. Bisoprolol should be recommended as the most preferable therapy for arterial hypertension from the pharmacoeconomic point of view. In order to control morning systolic arterial pressure the preference should be given to Perindopril, while for controlling evening systolic arterial pressure the preference should be given to Telmisartan
