At present, the emphasis in studies on the competitiveness of countries shifts from national to regional. Taking into account the disproportions in the development of regions, as well as the importance of inclusive development for national economy as a whole, this approach takes on special significance. Inclusive development of the territory necessarily requires an approach to ensuring competitiveness and prosperity not as inherited, but as newly created. Assessment of the territory competitiveness faces a number of problems. In this work, the author's vision of competitiveness assessment's basic stages, based on comparative analysis, is presented. The conclusion, that increasing the competitiveness of the region should be considered as an instrument for achieving the ultimate goal - inclusive development, is made. Besides, the main problems that arise in assessing the competitiveness of the territories, were determined. It is established that the GDP per capita indicator, used as one of the indicators of the socio-economic territory development, does not fully comply with the modern concept of inclusive development. It is shown that the use of the Russian regional innovation index is appropriate for assessing the innovative component of the region's competitive potential. The main shortcomings of the use of integrated indicators in assessing regional competitiveness are revealed.

The author has found out that human capital is a key element of social and economic development of the country. Emphasis in the
article is placed on the fact that in the context of globalization and informatization human capital becomes a defining factor in
the development of modern economic systems, without which no technical and economic progress is possible; that all the factors
affecting the development of human capital should be divided into internal and external depending on the environment of their
occurrence. The factor affecting the mobility of human capital is globalization, which is a steady increase in the interdependence of
economies of individual countries and regions, as well as the formation of global markets, including the global labor market. Global
labor market opens up new opportunities through technology and investment, increases mobility of workers, causes an increase in
the level of competition between them. However, the processes of globalization dictates new requirements to the labor force in terms
of its professionalism, mobility, level of new technologies knowledge and the like.

factor for businesses. In this process, the importance of employees who are equipped with information and communication technologies
has increased and this has become the most important activity for businesses in the new era.
Education is a process which aims to change human behaviour in the direction of some specific purposes in a conscious way. Hence,
education is the most important means to strengthen available human resources in different businesses. If the fact that educated
and equipped employees are the most important and strategic competitive factor for businesses in today’s world is taken into
consideration, being interested in the education of employees can make a great contribution to their performance in all ways. This
sort of educational activities helps the employees to feel themselves more valuable and confident. This self-confidence makes their
motivation and performance higher and higher in time. Besides, those employees become more committed to their work since they
think that their businesses invests in them.
In this work, factors that affect competitiveness and also the importance of educative investments to the employees in increasing
the power of competition have been analyzed.

Competition and Competitiveness (COP) of the enterprise are important in economic terms , acquires special importance in this era of globalization . High
level of COP is the guarantor of high returns. Consequently, under the current model of socio— economic development of the Russian Federation issues
COP occupy a dominant place in the theory of the national economy. Despite this, to date, there is no single generally accepted definition of «competitiveness
». An important characteristic of the COP of the company is its management model. Problem poses on industries in general, affect the approaches
used in the management of the firms operating in these sectors. The specificity of the industry in which the company operates, may affect the impact of
industry-wide problems at the individual enterprise. To this industry include pharmaceutical. Today’s economic situation for Russian companies in the
pharmaceutical industry is characterized by a low level of innovation component, low-profit orientation on the production of products (generics) , difficulties
in the creation and registration of new products that eventually forms a low competitiveness of not only individual enterprises, but also the entire
industry . Because of the strong competitive pressure from the nearest neighbors — China, India and other countries, as well as presence in the market
a large number of manufacturers of large multinational pharmaceutical corporations, the development of Russian pharmaceutical COP greatly complicated.
Import volumes of medicines, pharmaceutical substances, pharmaceutical goods in recent years tend to increase. Pricing and competitive strategy ,
used by foreign producers adversely affects not only the individual Russian companies , but in general, a number of pharmaceutical and related ( chemical,
biochemical ) industries. In this situation, one of the main levers of influence on the situation at the enterprise level is the management of the COP. Control
mechanism for the formation of a proper level is necessary to introduce a certain model that decision-making could consider the impact of key factors. The

The article is devoted to the peculiarities of investment activity in Ukraine, especially to investment potential of the regions. Attention is focused on
the problem of irregular regional growth in the country, which leads to differences in the investment potential of regions and is caused by different
groups of factors. Active measures of investment activity are proposed.
The ways of increasing the investment activity of Kyiv region are intersected with national interests. However, the regional advantages should be
considered: proximity to the political center, developed transport infrastructure and border location.
Today investment activities in Ukraine are improved but still measures for increasing investment attractiveness of the regions are not sufficient.
