The goal is to study gender features of rheological properties of blood in patients with chronic generalized periodontitis (CGP) from mild to moderate severity. Material and Methods. 80 patients (43.8% male) with CGP aged 42±5 years have been studied. 41 patients (43.9% male) experienced mild severity of CGP, and 39 patients (43.6% male) experienced moderate severity. 40 healthy adults (50% male), aged 31±7 years, have been included into the study. Plasma viscosity on shear rate values 300 sec1 to 5 sec1, and rheological features of erythrocytes (aggregation and deformation) have been evaluated. Results. In healthy women and women with mild severity of CGP, plasma viscosity was lower than in the similar group of men. The rheological features of erythrocytes have not gender differences among healthy adults and patients with mild CGP. Increased severity of CGP has been associated with increased plasma viscosity and rheological features of erythrocytes, particularly in men. Conclusion. Plasma viscosity differs in men and women (childbearing age) (healthy subjects and patients with CGP). In women, severity of pathological changes of plasma viscosity and rheological features of erythrocytes have been determined to be lower than in men.

Aim. To study the interrelation between the nature of system metabolic disturbances, rheological properties and cell composition of peripheral blood and the dynamics of the development of alterative and necrotic, regenerative and proliferative processes in a zone of surface thermal injury of the skin. Materials and methods. Complex clinical and laboratory examination of 30 patients suffering from surface burns (first-, second-, and third A degrees) was conducted. Results and conclusion: The examination allowed determining the interrelation of the severity of local destructive changes in a thermal injury zone and the nature of system metabolic disturbances typical for the system inflammatory response syndrome with the degree of lipid peroxidation process activation, insufficient activity of antioxidant blood system, increase in blood viscosity properties and cell composition

Research objective is to study substantiation of noninvasive method of blood viscosity and hematocrit monitoring. it contains the results of theoretical, experimental and clinical studies held to examine the mechanism of pulse wave distribution. The interrelation between pulse wave parameters, pulse wave velocity, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, blood viscosity and hematocrit has been revealed. Noninvasive method of blood viscosity and hematocrit determination has been worked out. it is distinguished by the following factors: pulse wave of the main artery registered at two limb levels, the amplitude of pulse wave, the duration of its trailing edge and the time of pulse wave distribution. Systolic and diastolic blood pressure are recorded. Blood viscosity and hematocrit calculations are made by means of mathematical treatment with the help of original program. the device for noninvasive blood viscosity and hematocrit monitoring has been created on the basis of elaborated method. Data precision obtained by noninvasive measurement of hematocrit and blood viscosity does not exceed 3%. the clinical use of noninvasive method enables to approach the problem of atherosclerosis prevention, to improve the results of atherosclerosis treatment and to look at it from critically new noninvasive positions
