Purpose: to assess reproducibility of measurement of the width of lateral ventricles of the fetal brain by ultrasound investigation in the second trimester of pregnancy. Material and Methods. The volume of the 34 normal fetal brains at 18-21 weeks of gestation was retrospectively evaluated. Two experienced specialists measured the width of lateral ventricles from each fetus twice. Results. Intra-operator differences of the first specialist constituted 0,136±0,065mm, of the second specialist — 0,156±0,066mm. Inter — operator differences counted 0,191±0,062mm. Conclusion. Measurement of the width of lateral ventricles is highly reproducible, it should be performed by ultrasound investigation in the second trimester of pregnancy.

The research goal is to study and analyze the relationship between the level of intrauterine development retardation and urine dynamics indicators of lower urinary tract of a fetus with the help of ultrasonic examination. The urinary function of 89 fetuses was under study. Methods of prenatal ultrasonic cystometry and urofluometry were used to examine the urinary function of a fetus. Statistical software package (Statgraphics 6.0) was used for the statistical analyses of the results. The study has shown that decrease in bladder capacity, increase in residual urine volume and frequent urination are usually the indicators of intrauterine development retardation. The third-degree of intrauterine development retardation is characterized by decrease in diuresis and increase in duration of micturition cycle according to gestational norm

The research goal is to study functional condition of upper and lower urinary tracts at fetus with obstructive uropathy and development of differential diagnostic and prognostic criteria of transition of functional disorders to organic. The diagnosis of prenatal and verified postnatal obstructive uropathy at 42 fetuses has been made by prenatal ultrasonic cystometry. Process of filling and evacuation of bladder has been under study. Obtained data have been compared with the results of dynamic measurement of kidney sizes in a standard projection. According to the results only at 19,1% of cases statistically significant urodynamic differences have not been revealed in comparison with control group. Diagnostic accuracy of organic form of urodynamic obstructions is 84%, of functional in 64,7% of observations and in 52,9% of cases the infection of urinary tracts with incomplete evacuation of bladder has been diagnosed. The degree of kidney and ureter expansion is not a differential diagnostic criterion of organic or functional urodynamic obstructions. However, using a principle of estimation of upper and lower urinary tracts condition, it is possible to make a prenatal differential diagnosis of variants of defects

For the purpose of revealing pre-natal urine dynamics preconditions ofdevelopment ofan infection ofurinary system atnewborns, feature urine dynamics functions of 101 fetus have been studied. Studying urine dynamics indicators of upper and lower urinary tracts of a fetus was carried out with the help of pre-natal ultrasonic cystometry process of filling and clearing the urinary bladder. It is established, that preconditions to development of urinary system infection in newborns are changes of urinary bladder capacity, frequency and speed of urination pre-natal developments.
