Purpose: an assessment of efficiency of complex treatment of periodontitis at women in a period of postmenopause with the use of zoledronic acid. Material and methods. Examination and treatment of 90 patients with a chronic generalized periodontitis against post-menopausal osteoporosis has been conducted. Material is processed statistically. Results. Application of preparations of zoledronic acid in complex treatment of system osteoporosis and periodontitis allows to reduce the frequency of recurrence of periodontal disease and to improve indicators of bone remodeling. Conclusion. In conclusion it is worth while determining that zoledronic acid in complex therapy of periodontitis is an effective method of drug correction of a mineral exchange before periodontological surgery.

Background ― Osteoporosis is a chronic multi-factorial disease characterized as low bone density and microarchitecture disturbance of bone tissue. Osteoporosis is known as a major health problem, but it can be prevented and treated in a great extent. Objective ― The aim of the present study was to determine the rate of Iranian female employees’ awareness of osteoporosis. Methods and Results ― In a cross-sectional study, 400 female employees in Kerman were studied. Data were gathered using a researcher-made questionnaire. Mean awareness score of participants was 11.69±3.76 that shows poor awareness. Participants with bachelor or higher degrees showed better awareness (p<0.05). Conclusions ― According to the obtained results, educational programs for increasing awareness of osteoporosis and its prevention are recommended.

Vibratory disease is one of the leading pathologies in the field of professional diseases, Polymorphism of manifestation is its peculiarity, including disorders of bone remodelling process. The goal of this study was to define peculiarity of bone interchange in patients with vibratory disease of common and local impact. Material and methods. 272 patients took part in the research; they were subjected to determination of mineral density level of bone tissue, markers of osteosis and bone resorption and cytokine profile. Three variants of treatment were used in the period of 12 months. Results. Positive dynamics of ultrasonic densitometry indices, osteogenesis markers (ionized calcium, alkaline phos-phatase), osteoprotogerine in sub-groups with vibrating disease treated with calcium medication and vitamin D was revealed. Conclusion. Research of mineral density of bone tissue and markers of bone remodelling is necessary for prescription a pathogenetic therapy at osteoporosis and osteopenic syndrome in patients with vibrating disease from general to local impact.

The research goal is to optimize the algorithm of radial methods of investigation of early vertebral osteoporosis and vertebral compressive fractures in case of osteoporosis, as well as surgical tactics in vertebral compressive fractures, aggravated by osteoporosis. 220 postmenopausal women have been examined. 100 patients with compressive vertebral fractures and 120 patients without risk factors of compressive fractures were under study. 220 patients have received lateral spinal radiography and dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry. 60 patients with compressive vertebral fractures have been examined by quantitative computed tomography. Compressive fractures have been diagnosed in 20 men who suffered from osteoporosis. Statistical processing of received data has been performed. It has been concluded that the use of quantitative computed tomography has made possible to identify the reduction in bone mineralization with an increase in age of patients. When the difficulties in interpretation of clinical data and X-ray densitometry findings have been determined, quantitative computed tomography has occurred to be the method of choice. Quantitative computed tomography helps determine the degree of resorption of trabecular bone in vertebral bodies and prognose high risk of fractures. Surgeries have been performed in presence of osteoporosis which does not affect the stability of the structure.

Research objective is to study processes of lithogenesis at patients with considerably cured urolithiasis at androg-enous therapy. The patients observed in urological clinic of Omsk State Medical Academy have been included. By means of method «case-control» 2 groups have been formed : the basic group - 10 patients with considerably cured urolithiasis and with hypogonadism receiving androgenous therapy and the comparison group - 10 patients with considerably cured urolithiasis and with hypogonadism without receiving androgenous therapy. Processes of lithogenesis at patients who received androgenous therapy have proceeded statistically significantly in comparison with patients without receiving androgenous therapy. It has been proved that there is a negative influence of testosterone deficiency on processes of lithogenesis. The obtained data demonstrate that lithogenic processes at patients with hypogonadism are more expressed and lead to more frequent urolithiasis recurrence. Noninvasiveness, technical simplicity and availability of method «Litos-test» provides its use for express-screening method for inspection of the population and for estimation of antireccurent efficiency of androgen replacement therapy at men with urolithiasis

Study of age-specific hypogonadism correlation through osteopenia with urolithiasis at men is a new perspective direction uniting endocrinology and somatic urology. Besides comparison groups patients observed in the urological clinic of Omsk State Medical Academy have been included in one-stage continuous research. The method of stratification has allowed distinguishing two groups: group of men with urolithiasis - 140 patients and comparison group - 30 men without urolithiasis. Research methods have included questioning of patients by means of questionnaire AMS and international erectile function index, estimation of body weight index, biochemical indicators of blood serum, general testosterone, ionized calcium, densitometry. Occurrence of hypogonadism at men with urolithiasis has accounted 57,1 % (80 patients), in comparison group (men without urolithiasis) it has accounted 23,3 % (7 patients). Occurrence of decrease in mineral density of bone tissue has been statistically and significantly higher at patients with hypogonadism that proves interrelation of osteo-calcium metabolism disturbances and urolithiasis development. The 1st group has accounted 8,7 % of patients with osteoporosis, the 2nd group - 3,3 %. The 1st group has accounted 70,0% of patients with osteopenia, the 2nd group - 25,0%. Level of testosterone is associated with degree of expressiveness of decrease in mineral density of bone tissue. The lowest indices of testosterone have been at men with osteoporosis. Revealed correlations have shown adverse influence of hypogonadism not only on the sexual status of patient, but also on condition of osteo-calcium metabolism, disturbances of which may cause urolithiasis

Gerontological patients with ischemic heart disease which is not accompanied by such pathology as diabetes (SD) and osteoporosis (OP) with normal or increased body weight (females) generally have got «the highest potential of health». It has been proved by phase portraits and autoantibodies (AAb) and cytokines indices. Adaptative disturbances in these groups have been revealed at the age of 95 and 89 accordingly. The presence of such accompanying pathology as SD and OP causes dysadaptation. The weakest unit in treatment of urolithiasis is revealing in each specific case etiological factor of lithogenic and carrying out etiotropic therapy, and, hence prevention of urolithiasis relapse. The study of correlation of hypogonadism through osteosinging with urolithiasis at men is the new perspective direction uniting Endocrinology and somatic Urology. In prospective cohort research the patients divided into 2 groups have been included: basic group - patients with considerably cured urolithiasis and hypogonadism, received androgenic therapy (30 persons); comparison group -patients with considerably cured urolithiasis and hypogonadism, not receiving androgen therapy (30 persons). Used: questioning on questionnaire AMS, the International index of erectile functions (IIEF-5), index of weight of a body, haemoglobin, hematocrit, biochemical indicators of blood serum, densitometry, general testosterone, PSA, and ionized calcium. After contra-indications exception (cancer of prostate gland, expressed increase of haemoglobin and hematocrit) the basic group patients were prescribed one of testosterone group drug during the period not less than 6 months: Androgel (Solvay Pharma), Nebido (Bayer Schering Pharma), Sustanon-250 (Organon), Omnadren-250 (Polfa). At the moment of the therapy beginning, patients of both groups were comparable in all investigated indices. Relapse of urolithiasis: against androgenic therapy - 28,6%, in comparison group - 63,2%. The obtained data testify to efficiency of androgenic therapy in respect to prevention of urolithiasis at patients with hypogonadism and confirm the role of hypogonadism as one of etiopathogenetic development factors of urolithiasis. Androgenic therapy was safe. All patients had insignificant increase of general PSA level and statistically significant increase of haemoglobin and hematocrit indicators. However, the received changes did not demand cancellation, or therapy correction.
