In this work problems were posed and solved concerning joint optimization of airfoil’s geometry and parameters of active boundary layer control devices to prevent flow separation. Boundary layer suction was used as such device. Aerodynamic calculation of boundary layer was performed using more accurate numerical method, the problem of optimization was solved using penalty function method. The use of other active boundary layer control devices such as a moving wall or tangential blowing affect only the boundary layer conditions and doesn’t require any significant modifications in the suggested scheme of solution.
